Yorkville PSA1S Paraline Dual 12-Inch Powered Subwoofer 2800W Peak

Yorkville PSA1S Powered Subwoofer: Is It the Right Bass Upgrade for Your PA System?

Ever attended a live event where the music sounded loud but lacked that deep, powerful bass? For DJs, musicians, and sound professionals, delivering a complete audio experience requires more than high-quality speakers. A capable subwoofer can make a noticeable difference in how audiences experience music.

The Yorkville PSA1S Powered Subwoofer is designed to bring substantial low-frequency performance to professional sound systems. With dual 12-inch woofers, 2800 watts of peak power, and a rugged cabinet, it offers a practical solution for demanding live sound applications.

But is it the right addition to your setup?

What Makes the Yorkville PSA1S Powered Subwoofer Different?

The Yorkville PSA1S is a professional dual 12-inch powered subwoofer from Yorkville Sound's Paraline Series, developed for medium-sized events and scalable PA systems.

Unlike passive subwoofers that require external amplification, the PSA1S includes an integrated Class D amplifier, simplifying system configuration.

Its bass reflex enclosure helps reproduce low frequencies, with a specified frequency response extending from 37 Hz to 100 Hz.

The subwoofer is also designed to complement Yorkville PSA1 powered loudspeakers, making it especially relevant for professionals building a coordinated Paraline sound system.

Key Features That Matter During Live Performances

1. Dual 12-Inch Woofers for Powerful Bass

The PSA1S features two 12-inch ceramic woofers with 3-inch voice coils.

This configuration provides dedicated low-frequency reproduction for bass-heavy music, kick drums, and other demanding audio content.

For mobile DJs and live bands, dedicated subwoofers allow the main speakers to focus more effectively on their intended frequency range when the system is configured correctly.

2. 2800W Peak Power With Class D Amplification

With 2800 watts of peak power and 1400 watts of program power, the PSA1S is designed for professional sound reinforcement.

Its integrated Class D amplifier eliminates the need for a separate amplifier to power the subwoofer.

The system also offers a maximum rated output of 135 dB peak, making it worth considering for applications requiring substantial low-frequency output.

3. Durable Construction for Professional Use

One particularly appealing feature is the solid 15mm birch cabinet construction.

For event-production companies that regularly transport equipment, durable enclosure materials are an important consideration.

The PSA1S also includes heavy-duty rear wheels and side handles to assist with transportation and positioning.

4. Flexible Connections and System Integration

The subwoofer includes XLR and 1/4-inch connections, line/speaker operating modes, and a fixed 100 Hz crossover.

These features support integration into different professional audio configurations.

Its Heavy Duty Precision Stand Adapter also supports compatible Yorkville PSA1 loudspeakers when used with the appropriate SW-TUBEHD accessory.

Where Can You Use the Yorkville PSA1S?

The Yorkville PSA1S dual 12-inch powered subwoofer can serve several professional applications.

• Mobile DJ events: Add dedicated bass reinforcement for weddings, private parties, and dance events.
• Live music performances: Support kick drums, bass guitars, and low-frequency musical content.
• Event venues: Complement professional PA speakers in appropriately sized event spaces.
• Churches and worship spaces: Provide additional low-frequency support for contemporary worship music.
• Production companies: Build scalable sound systems using compatible Paraline loudspeakers.

Its combination of powered operation and transport-oriented features makes it especially interesting for professionals working across multiple venues.

What Should You Consider Before Buying?

Before choosing this professional PA subwoofer, evaluate your existing speakers, event requirements, and available transportation space.

The PSA1S weighs approximately 120 pounds, so moving and loading it requires planning despite its integrated wheels.

You should also consider the fixed 100 Hz crossover and whether it suits your main speakers and overall system configuration.

If you're building a Yorkville Paraline setup, the PSA1S is specifically designed to complement the PSA1 powered loudspeaker.

For suspended subwoofer applications, Yorkville offers the separate PSA1SF flyable version.
