NX 985-A is a three-way active speaker masterfully engineered from the ground up to deliver stellar audio performance for Bands, DJs, Clubs, and Rental Companies. The best-in-class combination of RCF premium transducers and a two-channel 2100W amplifier produce coherent 100° x 60° coverage for the listening area with up to 138 dB SPL of distortion-free sound.
The three-way design features a 1.75" neodymium compression driver with a constant directivity waveguide, 8" cone midrange on a phase-coherent waveguide, and a 15" high power woofer. Used as a stand-alone speaker, flown, coupled with another NX 985-A or combined with the RCF SUB 8008-AS subwoofer, the NX 985-A delivers extreme SPL output at all frequencies with high performance and reliability.
The rugged, tour-ready, high-quality all-plywood cabinet is easy to carry and secure to install using the dedicated rigging points available.
Power that moves
The most powerful amplifier in its class. RCF's improvements in transducer design make them stronger and more powerful. With 2100W of power, the 2-channel NX 9 Class-D amplifier is 50% more powerful than previous models, able to manage extreme sound pressure levels with an ultra-fast attack, realistic transient response, and very low heat loss.
NX 9 is energy-efficient so there's no need for a cooling fan - the amplifier is attached to a solid aluminum heat exchanger in the rear of the cabinet - with no moving parts. The input circuit features a new low distortion design with an advanced safety limiter, maintaining the true character of the input signal at all levels. All NX 9 amplifiers are designed according to EN62368-1 for maximum safety and present a Switch Mode Power Supply section joining high-efficiency with minimum weight.
Superior transducers
Lightweight and powerful, RCF drivers are a reference in high performance. All transducers are designed by RCF engineers in Italy for maximum reliability and perfectly matched components.
The extended clarity of the 1.75" compression driver features a neodymium magnet for improved current handling and reduced weight. The best-in-class peek dome and the Polyamide/Kapton voice coil handle extreme power levels with very low distortion.
- The midrange section adds detail and vocal clarity with a high-power 8" cone midrange on a constant directivity waveguide.
- One high-power 15" low-frequency woofer with a new advanced transducer design gains more stability over higher currents, with less distortion, fast transient response, and better heat handling.
Bass Motion Control
When searching for an extended bass with enhanced performance, RCF engineers found a way to remove the high-pass filter, replacing it with a forward-thinking approach. Introducing BMC (Bass Motion Control), the newly advanced woofer excursion management feature. The speaker equipped with BMC can handle the lowest audible frequencies without affecting the woofer stability, with extended linearity and better sound integrity.
The BMC method works by creating a complete map of the dynamic behavior of the woofer, to generate a custom algorithm that only limits over-excursions. This gives total freedom of signal reproduction to the transducer. When high-pass filters normally protect the woofer motion from becoming destructive but change the phase behavior, the new BMC algorithm breaks conventional rules.
New perspective on linearity
RCF speakers are designed using a proprietary and advanced digital FiR technology, conceived to deliver transparent sound, absolute clarity, and perfect imaging to the listener.
The special FiRPHASE filters allow for coherent distribution of sound for all listeners without phase distortions, ensuring minimum latencies in the system.

The SUB 8008-AS is a double 18? high power active subwoofer for live bands, DJs, Clubs, and Rental Companies. It employs a state-of-the-art transducer featuring a high-power ceramic magnetic circuit with a 4" voice coil.
The power amplifier manages extreme currents up to 4400W delivering sound pressure levels up to 137 dB with exceptional headroom. The ultra-fast attack with accurate power handling is managed with high efficiency, producing a very low heat loss for silent and fan-less cooling. Built specifically for demanding live sound applications with deep, powerful bass response. Rear panel controls include 12 presets, crossover frequency, polarity switch, Deep/Punch selection, cardioid, and output delay settings.

RCF Precision Transducers engineers have developed new specific magnet sizes and molds to optimize magnetic flux while maintaining a low weight. The 18", 4.0" voice coil magnetic circuit topology is capable of delivering the highest, balanced level of performance in three specific areas: maintenance of a consistent, high integrity magnetic flux gap, exceptionally low distortion and efficiently integrating the magnetic circuit in a minimum weight design. The T-pole design optimization generates the minimum amount of flux modulation in the magnetic assembly during typical voice coil movement within the gap.

- SUB 8008-AS is suitable for a wide range of live sound applications. The rugged all-plywood cabinet is easy to carry and two or more cabinets are stackable and light-weight, for easy set-up and tear down, thanks to the ergonomic handles with rubber grip on each side. Two M20 threaded pole mounts on the top and side allow the cabinet to be used in vertical or horizontal configurations. The heavy-duty polyurea coating, the powder-coated metal grille, and the rugged structure of the cabinet withstand long-term use and transportation. Separate housing for the amplifier guarantees component efficiency and reliability. An acoustically transparent sound foam backing on the inside of the grille ensures protection from dust and humidity. Due to the frontal vented ports, the subwoofer can also be used in recessed spaces.
