With the DAVE 18 G4X, your search is over. This active compact PA system, consisting of an 18" subwoofer and two 8" satellites (total power: 4000 W peak), offers not only a new, modern design with numerous handling improvements, but also an integrated 6-channel mixer with all the essential input options. This allows for the creation of a wide variety of setups and combinations of instruments, vocals, and playback devices – both wired and wireless thanks to integrated Bluetooth for easy streaming via a smartphone or tablet.
The first two channels of the mixer are designed as channel strips. Here, you can connect a microphone, a high-impedance instrument—such as a guitar or bass—as well as line-level sources. A 2-band EQ for bass and treble, as well as an adjustable reverb with three presets (Small, Large, and Plate), are available for sound shaping. Channels 3 and 4 are designed as stereo line inputs and are suitable for keyboards, synthesizers, drum machines, or small electronic drum kits, among others.
The DAVE 18 G4X becomes even more versatile when you use the digital SPDIF stereo input or Bluetooth connection to expand your performance setup with a media player, computer, or smartphone, allowing you to play and control backing tracks, sound effects, or interval music. Likewise, the inputs (channels 5 and 6) can be used for a karaoke system or simply to reproduce a TV in a sports bar with professional sound.
Speaking of official sound: The DAVE 18 G4X has been redesigned and developed from the ground up. This not only benefits instruments and music, but also speech intelligibility when the PA is used for speech reinforcement. The acoustic concepts include new compression drivers and waveguides for homogeneous and directional dispersion, as well as FIR filters and state-of-the-art DSP technology for a transparent, coloration-free sound that you've never experienced before from a DAVE. For example, the subwoofer has been equipped with a larger voice coil and an optimized bass reflex system to minimize ventilation noise.
Overall, the DAVE 18 G4X is predestined for flexible use. This is helped not least by the selectable mode presets for classic stereo use or a setup with two closely spaced satellites on a T-stand above the subwoofer – the DAVE G4X delivers impressive sound in all configurations. The last preset described above enables interference-free clustering of two satellites through a special M/S split and reproduction of the stereo signal for more headroom and directivity.
LD Systems has also considered all common applications when it comes to accessories. These range from custom-fit bags and a rolling board to the aforementioned T-stand.
The integrated 6-channel mixer allows you to connect and mix different sources – from microphones and high-impedance instruments to line-level signals and wired or wireless players.
INTEGRATED EFFECTS
Channels 1 and 2 feature a 2-band EQ and reverb—each individually adjustable and with variable presets (reverb) for different rooms and environments. This gives both instruments and vocals a full, professional sound.
